Is my EGT/CHT (/thermocouple temperature sensor) "J type" or "K type"?

The vendor of the probe should be able to answer this question.

Standard CHTs are J type. Standard EGTs are K type.

"Setting = K type" with "probe = J type" will display higher temperatures

"Setting = J type" with "probe = K type" will display lower temperatures

Is my EGT/CHT (/thermocouple temperature sensor) "grounded" or "ungrounded"?

The vendor of the probe should be able to answer this question.

You can however check this with an ohmeter: ungrounded probes have both wires isolated from the sensing part of the probe.

EFMS100 will work with both types "refer to the installation manual" . Grounded thermocouples are the most common.

Ungrounded probes can help on motors with very high electric noise.
